Faith and Power for God’s Glory

Ephesians 3:20

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us...

The other day I needed to deliver a car for my other job, this car is extremely fast and powerful. I really wanted to floor it, and feel the power that this car offered. The problem was there was no room. There was tons of traffic and I could barely press the gas on the car. It was tough, to know I had all this power, and could not use it!

As I was driving this car, I felt the Lord press on my heart that when we are Children of God, and we have asked Jesus into our heart, and submitted our hearts and our ways to Him, as the Bible says, He lives in our heart. We also know, from the Bible that we have the Holy Spirit who is our counselor and guide that lives in us. God pressed on my heart that the Holy Spirit living inside of us is like the potential and power of this car (of course far greater, bear with me for the sake of this analogy).

Romans 8:10 also tells us that the same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead lives in us!

While driving this car, at my disposal, at my instant command, my foot would be able to release some 600 horsepower and blow by any car I wish. God was really pressing on my heart that we need to have this mindset. We need to really know and learn the power we have when Christ lives in us. Of course this takes time, to learn and know how to harness this type of power. It also takes spiritual growth to use this power for good, rather than self-glorification.

The verse above spoke to me this morning and confirmed that message on my heart, God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above ALL that we ask or think!! Amazing! It really comes down to faith.

Our faith grows as we water, cultivate, prune and fertilize the seed (desire, interest, love) of God that has been placed in our hearts. If we do not do these things, our faith WILL NOT grow.

So seek God to grow your faith, and let the power of the Holy Spirit, radiate through your life, words and actions into the lives of others around you, all for the Glory, Honor and Praise of Jesus Christ the Risen Savior!

What an amazing thing to have the power of the Holy Spirit living in our hearts. A power that defeats death and guides and leads us into the will of the LORD. Thank you Jesus.
