What Are You Doing With This Life?

Sermon of the Day: The Power in the Blood

Matthew 25:14-30 18

But the servant who received the one bag of silver dug a hole in the ground and hid the master’s money.

The Lord spoke this on my heart yesterday morning:

Do not be the man who bury’s the money, the man of mediocrity.

I knew the Lord was not talking only about money. He was also talking about my gifts and strengths.

Men, God has given each and every one of us amazing gifts and talents. Every human being was created in the image of God, and therefore is an amazing miracle of creation. There are so many verses throughout scripture that God talks about how fearfully and wonderfully He has made us.

The question really boils down to, what are you doing with your life?

Do you know that you have a purpose? Do you know that God created you to do amazing things, and touch lives in amazing ways?

He really has my brothers. God wants every single one of us to have such powerful impacts on this earth for His glory.

If you read through the entire passage, Matthew 25:14-30, you will see that the stories talks about three men. However there are really only two kinds of men.

Men that challenge themselves to be greater. Men that don’t.

The heart and soul of this ministry is to help men, be better men in Christ, better husbands and better fathers.

This is an active pursuit. It takes a daily renewing of your mind. It takes daily time spent in God’s Word and in prayer. It cannot be done alone, you need men that are willing to be alongside of you. Telling you the things you need to hear.

Men, can I challenge you this morning?

Can I challenge you not to be the servant who digs a hole and bury’s your masters money or talent in the ground. It does not matter if others seem to have more. God created you exactly how He needed to, so that you can fulfill your calling on your life.

The first steps is to humble ourselves before the Lord. Confess our sins. Admit our wrongs. Ask God to remove the distractions of this life. Our sinful habits, our wrongful mindsets. Start plugging in to this ministry. Plug into your church. Find a small group you can start attending. Men we will never live our full potential isolated from everyone, not wanting to hear anything difficult. Avoiding the hard truths does not make them go away. By doing this you are just digging your hole and burying the silver.

Heavenly Father I want to change. Please help me, teach me and guide me by Your holy spirit. Help me to renew my mind. Cleanse me of all my sin, wash me and make me new in You. Help me to live a life of purpose for your kingdom. That I will impact lives for You. In Jesus name, Amen.

By the way, a wise friend of mine says, “don’t pray for it, if you’re not willing to pay for it.”
