Ready to Forgive

June 11, 2016

Psalm 86:5

For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

What a message the weary, broken and guilt filled sinner needs to hear.

The Bible teaches many things about our sinful nature.

Romans 3, has a few key verses that teach; none are righteous, that all have sinned and fall short of God glorious standard.

Many of us may believe this with all our hearts, many of us live lives with constant acknowledgement and repentance of our sin. Praise the Lord, remain in this light because the testing of our faith will come.

However, today this message is targeted for the weary, broken, and guilt-trodden soul. There are to many men walking around today feeling unworthy to come to accept the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Guilt has gotten a hold of your soul, and you feel absolutely unworthy to surrender before a Holy God.

Men, this type of theology has some biblical truth behind it but if it does not change it will drag you away from the life God is ready to give you.

I say there is truth here because look at what Psalm 85:9 says:

Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him,
That glory may dwell in our land.

There is obviously some type of reverent fear in your heart. God is completely holy and you acknowledge that in your heart, maybe even without realizing it. However the enemy is using your past against you. Your previous and maybe current sin has now become a destructive fear of God.

Men! God is ready to forgive you! God is abundant in mercy!

There is example after example throughout scripture that gives us many illustrations of sinful men. These men sinned far greater than most of us ever will. However look at all those that came to the Lord with a broken and contrite heart seeking His forgiveness. Trusting in the blood of Jesus alone to take away all their sins.

Please men, allow me to beg and plead with you. If this message is speaking directly to your soul do not deny it. Do not ignore this tug on your heart. With tears streaming down my face I plead with you to turn to Christ.

Get alone, be real, be open and be honest with the God of the universe that knows all things. We do not need to hide as if He doesn’t know.

May God bless you with a broken heart for Him, that to please Him becomes your greatest desire. Amen

For You, Lord are good, and ready to forgive.
