Alive in Christ Jesus

Ephesians 2:1

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins…

Did you know that the Bible tells us that without Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior we are spiritually dead?

We are dead because of our sins. Our sins separate us from God. There is no way to have fellowship with God if we are living in continuous sin.

However this is not depressing or even bad news, and it should never be looked at that way.

Jesus, is why; because of Jesus we have endless potential and blessings.

Lets highlight some things from Ephesians 1:

  1. God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing (Ephesians 1:3).  Everything we ever need to be victorious in Christ Jesus is ours. God has already given it. So when we get bogged down with the worries and cares of this life, we have to remember that we have the power through Jesus Christ to overcome anything. It may not look pretty, it may not be the way we want, but we have the tools (aka spiritual blessing) to do it. That is why Paul says in Philippians; I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
  2. We are Chosen and Predestined (Ephesians 1:4-5). Guys, we are chosen and predestined to live a life that is to the glory and praise of God. Not our own, but His. We are accepted just as we are. Weak, wounded, hurt, lonely; whatever it is; God has chosen  you and me for His purposes.
  3. Redemption and Forgiveness through HIS blood (Ephesians 1:7). We absolutely need to know that we have complete forgiveness and that God has completely redeemed us when we surrender our hearts to Him. We may not feel it instantly, but it is our promise from God. His blood is everything, it was shed so we no longer are dead, but have life.
  4. Abounding Grace in all Wisdom and Understanding (Ephesians 1:8). This is absolutely amazing, Gods Grace is so abounding to the point that all wisdom and understanding we need, we ask for, or we search for; is ours!
  5. God Will Gather All of His People (Ephesians 1:10). This is the blessed hope of all believers. We will be united as one “bride”, chosen and predestined before the foundations of this world. To live with our Heavenly Father and His son Jesus, for the rest of eternity!
  6. Guaranteed and Sealed with the Promise of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14). The Holy Spirit living, and working within our hearts and minds is the proof of our salvation in Him. It is our seal, and it is the stamp of God’s Promises in our life.
  7. Jesus is Greater and Above All (Ephesians 1:21). Far above all rule, authority, power, might, dominion, principality, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the age to come. Really think about what that says, it is absolutely mind-blowing. That verse says it all and more.

May God Almighty, the God who created all things, by His Word, speak to you personally and specifically in every area of your life. May He move powerfully in everything you do, for His glory, honor and praise.
