How Are You Walking?

November 10, 2015

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

The other day this verse came alive to me. Although I have read this verse before a new light was shone from the depths of this powerful verse.

For anyone who has put their faith in Christ Jesus there is no condemnation. In other words, there is no sentencing and no punishment for previous sins.

By the blood of Jesus all sins have been washed away. How is this possible?

Jesus paid the ultimate price, His death, and resurrection conquered sin and the grave. For the christian death no longer has any sting. Instead we know we do not have to fear it because the Bible teaches our last breath on earth is our first breath in heaven.

We all have been taught in order to be in Christ Jesus, or in other words be a christian we just have to believe. Right?

We’ll this verse seems to add to that.

Walking according to the flesh, is living in a way that is not subject to the law of God (Romans 8:7). In other words we want to do our own thing, our own way. Maybe we learn to blend it with something the Bible teaches, but it’s not complete. We have blended with something we want.

This type of mind is referred to as the carnal mind and Romans teaches this is enmity against God, and these minds will never please God.

So lets say this is speaking to you, lets say this is sounding familiar. My dear friend please do not reject this in your heart. Do not ignore the feeling you have right now. That feeling is the Holy Spirit pleading with you to repent. My dear brother repent, turn from your ways and your sin. Confess them to God, He already knows it all.

Our God is one, Our God is a healer, Our God is the creator of redemption and restoration. Will there be consequences for our actions? yes. However can God restore and redeem? ABSOLUTELY.

Live by the Spirit of God, where the fruits of the Spirit abound: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, goodness and self-control.
