What about people in Africa?

September 23, 2015

Psalm 86:9

All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.

What about the people in Africa who has never heard in Jesus? How will they get saved if Jesus is the only way to heaven?

Not sure if you have either heard this or thought this. Well if you are like me, the answer is both.

I used to often think this, and I continue to hear this to people as I try to share the great and awesome news of the Gospel of Jesus.

For those of you who do have not thought or heard this… a little backdrop.

The Bible teaches that Jesus is the only way to God, and therefore the only way to heaven. Through His sacrifice on the cross, all of our sins are paid. When we believe in our heart, confess with our mouth, and bear fruit worthy of repentance; God continues a work in us.

So the skeptic will always say, how can this be true? What about the person in Africa who may have no contact with the outside world his entire life?

God in His infinite mercy and grace has given us every answer to every question in the Living Word of God.

The first line of this verse is a powerful one-two combo. Not only is God the creator of all flesh, but all nations. I see that meaning politically, geographically, physically and everything in between.

God desires all creation to worship Him. We were created to desire that type of all satisfying worship. Nothing else will fill the vacuum in our hearts, except complete devotion to the worship of the One True God. Don’t believe me on this one, take a look around you…and every desire and passion you have pursued. Where has the gotten all of us? Wanting more, bigger, better, different and so one.

So the only way to fill this is spoken in the last sentence of this verse,  glorify the name of Jesus.

What does that look like?

God alone is the focal point of all your pursuits, focus, desires, decisions and so on.

For many this is difficult, that is why Jesus says blessed is the man who is not offended because of me. That is why Jesus says many are called but few are chosen.

Will you believe God at His Word?
