Everlasting Traits

Psalm 25:9-14

The humble He guides in justice,
And the humble He teaches His way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth,
To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your name’s sake, O Lord,
Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

12 Who is the man that fears the Lord?
Him shall He teach in the way He chooses.
13 He himself shall dwell in prosperity,
And his descendants shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,
And He will show them His covenant.

Good Morning Men!

This Psalm really spoke to my heart this morning, so many times I grapple with how can I grow closer to Jesus? How can I glorify Him more with my words, my actions and especially my thoughts. The above section of the Psalm had some very important characteristics that I pray we all will not only desire, but learn and grow into more and more each day.

Humility and the Bible are one and the other. They go hand and hand. It is impossible to grow in one without growing in the other. A good test to know if your humble or not, is ask yourself if you think you are humble. If your answer is yes, then, congratulations…your not.

All paths are mercy and truth…ever stuck with how to handle a situation? Fall on these priceless traits. Never withhold truth and mercy; they also must not come without the other. The delivery of only one of them will not have any grace, or resemblance of the Lord.

“Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.” This type of daily confession, admitting and owning up to our faults is the only way to truly grow in the Lord. To see ourselves how the Lord sees us. Not how we want to see ourselves. This is connected with the humility problem, if we cannot see our sin, then we will not be able to see our pride also.

The fear of the Lord finishes this powerfully dynamic list off. This type of fear incorporates everything else we just discussed. It is the secret of the Lord, having such a holy fear of God that we are compelled to be greater for His glory not our own.
