1 John 1:9 NLT

 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Good Morning Men! Yesterday I was so blessed to be able to join a handful of brothers from our ministry for a Bible Study. We had an amazing time of fellowship, sharing, sharpening and so much more.

There was something that came up about feeling unworthy, and I know this is a common lie, that comes straight out of the pit of hell, that many of us may face.  So I wanted to share a few verses.

The above verse is very clear, we must confess our wrong, our sins to Him. We must open up and expose are shameful ways. Sometimes this can be a very difficult first step, but God already knows all things, so why do we have a hard time doing it?

Many of us in this group may have already done this, we know we are sinners, and we have confessed our sins, we have asked Jesus into our heart, but we still struggle with this feeling of unworthiness, especially because our walk with God has not been the greatest.

Well Look what Hebrews 10:17 NLT says:

Then he says,

“I will never again remember
    their sins and lawless deeds.”

Never Again! Thats a pretty good promise, right?

And if your not sold yet, look at what the Psalmist says in, Psalm 103:8-18 NLT

The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
    slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
He will not constantly accuse us,
    nor remain angry forever.
10 He does not punish us for all our sins;
    he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.
11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
    is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.
12 He has removed our sins as far from us
    as the east is from the west.
13 The Lord is like a father to his children,
    tender and compassionate to those who fear him.
14 For he knows how weak we are;
    he remembers we are only dust.
15 Our days on earth are like grass;
    like wildflowers, we bloom and die.
16 The wind blows, and we are gone—
    as though we had never been here.
17 But the love of the Lord remains forever
    with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the children’s children
18     of those who are faithful to his covenant,
    of those who obey his commandments!

Isnt that amazing!! I want to encourage you men to meditate on this passage. Break it apart and look at all the promises, and character traits of God in this short passage.

Another thing that we discussed yesterday is that it is okay to be weak and vulnerable towards God and the things of God. Because as the Word says, when we are weak, He is made strong!

Blessings and Love

    Unworthiness to share in the joy of the LORD and to be called a son of God is something I’ve always srtruggled with. These verses were right on. Thank you brother K.
