Let God be True

October 28, 2014

Jeremiah 51:15-16

15 The Lord made the earth by his power,
and he preserves it by his wisdom.
With his own understanding
    he stretched out the heavens.
16 When he speaks in the thunder,
    the heavens roar with rain.
He causes the clouds to rise over the earth.
He sends the lightning with the rain
and releases the wind from his storehouses.

In the margin of my Bible next to this passage I have written, “The Great I AM” (Exodus 3:14). This verse shows a small glimpse at the power and authority of God Almighty.

Many today will argue against this passage, but as a Christian we believe that God Almighty is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Through Him all things exist, and by Him all things were made (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16).

Genesis 1-2 teaches us that God spoke the earth into existence, by the power of His Words (We have these same words available to us, its called the Bible), the earth came to life!

We also know that our earth has to be kept in perfect balance. If the temperature of the ocean changes a few degrees, there would be devastating effects on the world. If the gravitational pull decreased, or the atmosphere thinned, and gave way to the devastating rays of the stars; again there would be devastating effects.

In God’s infinite wisdom He created the world as we know it, in six days. Why do we doubt this miracle? If God is truly God, isn’t this absolutely possible?

It takes a heart of humility and submission to accept this. Because in our head and heart we cannot see this, or accept this, especially when intelligent scientists try to disprove the world by a creator in every book we were every taught by. So we have been taught many doctrines that go against God’s Word. When we should know that Romans 3:4 teaches us, we should let God be true and every man a liar.

Lets remember these powerful words by the prophet Isaiah:

Isaiah 55:8-9

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord.
“And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.
For just as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so my ways are higher than your ways
and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.
