HE came to fulfill all!

Matthew 5:17

“Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill…”

Feast of the Circumcision mosaic-law1

This morning as I was reading through Romans 7, God impressed upon my heart some understanding of the above verse that I wanted to share with you.

Romans 7 is basically about The Law, to put it simple the law(s) of the Old Testament; specifically, but not limited to the Ten Commandments, also know as the Mosaic Law (or law given by Moses from God).

Paul formerly known as Saul, was a part of the strictest most elite group of religious leaders known as the Pharisees. By human standards they were pretty close to perfect, as perfect as a human beings could literally strive for. They followed God’s laws and commands to the tee!

However in Romans 7, Paul is describing how he (us included) has been set free from the law by the body, blood and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This morning God impressed on my heart that “The Law” was created to show sin. It was created to show man’s weakness and vulnerability to sin. The law shows our wretchedness, and our need for a Savior.

That Savior is Jesus Christ. He alone fulfills the law because only through Him can we be cleansed, and washed clean of our sin.

We all need a savior, in Matthew 7:11 Jesus is addressing his entire audience as evil. In Romans 7:24, Paul the author of half of the New Testament says “O wretched man that I am!”.

How much more so do we need to keep our walk, and life in check?

I know I need a savior, I know that every thought and feeling I have is not pure, holy and good.

How bout you, do you need a Savior?

IF you have never given your life to Christ and asked Him to be your personal Lord and Savior check out these two verses:

John 3:16

Romans 10:9

May the Lord God Almighty stir all your hearts to live stronger and more righteous in HIM!

I’m reading through Leviticus right now going through all if the offerings that the LORD instructed the Israelites to follow. Specifically, the Sin Offering. Only through the shedding of blood can sin be forgiven. In the Old Testament it was through the sacrifice of a bull, goat or lamb. The individual would place his hand on the animal’s head and symbolically transfer his sin on to the animal who would then be sacrificed. Jesus Christ took upon himself all of the sins of the world (past, present, and future) and bore them on the cross and through His perfect, sinless blood, was sacrificed for our sins once and for all. Through His blood and His blood ONLY are we saved from our sins. Thank you Jesus!!!!
