Merry Christmas!!

December 25, 2013

Isaiah 9:6

For a child is born to us,
a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
    And he will be called:
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
    Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

If you didn’t know yet, the above verse is speaking of the birth of Jesus Christ, the baby born in a manger in the little town of Bethlehem, just south of Jerusalem, Israel.

The book of Isaiah was written approximately 700 years before the birth of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. These words were inspired by God on Isaiah the Prophets heart, 700 years before Jesus was born.

Jesus was born fully man, yet He was fully God as the Holy Spirit conceived Him in the womb of His mother Mary.

Jesus is the reason for celebrating Christmas. Jesus is the reason we can call it Merry Christmas. Without Jesus in Christmas there could be no “Merry”. Why?

Because, the Bible teaches that all men and women born into this world are born sinners. As a sinner we are forever separated from God Almighty. However, this is not what God wants, He wants a personal, intimate relationship with every single one of us. So He sent His Son Jesus. Jesus chose to step down from His heavenly throne, he dethroned Himself, to come and be the atonement, or replacement for our sin; that without Jesus, our sin would forever separate us from the LOVE of GOD.

Friends, Many oppose Jesus Christ. Jesus is rejected today, just as He was 2000 years ago. If this is you just know that He Loves You and wants you to feel and know His Love, today, tomorrow and for eternity. His Love knows no end, and has no boundaries. Just search for Him truthfully and you will find Him. He stands at the door of your heart and knocks, just waiting for you to let Him in.

For everyone else, make Him your priority today (and everyday). Share this verse with your friends and family. Share the Story of Jesus with all that you can. Meditate on Him today, thanking Him and Praising Him for all that He has done for you. Jesus is so worth all of your talk and praise. Teach your kids and grand kids why this day is so important. Presents are cool but they are temporary, Jesus is Forever!

Hebrews 13:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

With Love and Joy knowing that we have a Savior!

Amen. I’d like to encourage everyone to listen to Pastor Adrian Rogers’ sermon titled “His Unequaled Birth.” You can find it on his website Love Worth Finding Ministries under the radio broadcast section. It is a great sermon on the birth of Christ.
