Where is Wisdom found?

November 5, 2013

Job 28: 12-13,23-24,28 NLT

12 “But do people know where to find wisdom?
    Where can they find understanding?
13 No one knows where to find it,
    for it is not found among the living.

23 “God alone understands the way to wisdom;
    he knows where it can be found,
24 for he looks throughout the whole earth
    and sees everything under the heavens.

28 And this is what he says to all humanity:
‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom;
    to forsake evil is real understanding.’”

You dont have to look far when it comes to the search for real answers, especially with God, Jesus, Heaven and Hell. Many, maybe including yourself have doubted, wondered and pondered, what is really true? We have all the controversial questions that bounce through our minds, like how is Jesus the only way? What about people in africa that never heard of Jesus? What about really nice, good people who dont know Jesus? Sound familiar? Probably, these were questions I have even faced for myself.

In years past I had turned to my own thoughts, experiences and heart to try to answer these questions requiring infinite wisdom. What a surprise, I came up with more unanswered questions, and more doubts in not only those questions but many more.

The above verses made it very clear to me why. It’s because we truly do not know the value of wisdom and understanding alone, and it cannot be found among us that are alive physically without Christ. Those that have died already and gone to the next life, heaven or hell, have all the answers for the unbelieving. The problem for the unbelieving is you cant talk to the dead.

Well Praise God we have a solution to this problem, it just comes down to whether or not you choose to accept it. Verse 28, and a few other places throughout the Bible says that the fear of the Lord is true wisdom. When we fear God enough to not only believe in Him, but to obey Him, to Love Him and believe every word He has left for us in the Bible we will not only find wisdom but we will thrive in it and find understanding.

If you truly desire Wisdom, seek God with all your heart. Learn about Him through His Word. Get connected with people that know His Word and stand on every Word in the Bible. Do not lean on your own understanding, that is not only foolish, but will be eternal costly.
