The Just Shall Live by Faith

August 9, 2013

Habakkuk 2:4

“Behold the proud,
His soul is not upright in him;
But the just shall live by his faith.

Proud

Pride is dangerous and lurks in every situation and around every corner. Search your heart to see where Pride has already manifested itself, and where it is creeping in.

Now search your heart for faith, where are you leaning on the promises of God. Not just in Words but in your heart, and actions.

There is nothing that earns salvation, holiness or a righteous standing with Jesus Christ.

Get rid of Pride. Fight against it daily. Make Pride your biggest enemy, and Faith in the Promises of God your greatest friend and shelter.

In order to do this more effectively you need to read the Word of God. You need to place His inspired Words in your heart. You need to allow it to transform and renew your mind. Scraping off the callous of this world, removing all things that are at conflict with a personal, and intimate relationship with Jesus.

When things are not looking in your favor, and you’re doing all you can to glorify God with no results, don’t sweat it. Trust that God’s plan is bigger and better. That maybe God doesn’t want you to be the coolest, most highly esteemed among your peers. Maybe God needs to humble you.

Faith, allows you to trust in God’s Plan. Faith allows you to ignore Pride and the harmful actions it produces.

Satan was banished from Heaven for Pride. He wanted to be God. He saw himself of way more importance than he actually was. He needed to promote himself to others by his actions. This was his downfall…don’t let it be yours.

    Proverbs 16:18-19 – Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.

    Proverbs 3:34 – God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

    1 Peter 5:6-7 – Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
