Nibble Bread : What do you live for?

December 22, 2012

John 12:25

25 He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.

In most Christian circles this is probably a verse that would seem like radical Christianity. But does the Bible actually have areas that are for the “normal” Christian, and other areas for those that want to be “radical”? I can confidently say no.

What does this really look like? Well, we don’t get consumed by our status, our image, or our finances. We don’t let things like that determine who we are. We begin trusting God on a deeper level, especially when things don’t make sense to us, or things seem impossible. God seeks the humble at heart, God is seeking those that would rather serve than be served. Why? Because these types of behaviors show the transformation of the heart. This transformation shows that we have crossed from death to life.

We Must learn to focus our sights, energy and actions upon Jesus. When Jesus is at the center we start seeing this life in a whole new light. We start living less for our self and more for others. When we can begin to make this transition, we are beginning to shift from seeing the value in this life to seeing the true value in the next life.

Seek Him and His righteousness First!
