Nibble of Bread : What kind of Christian are you?
Romans 10:9-10
9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
Early in the morning at the firehouse im usually alone when I spend time with God. This morning God chose to place a visiting brother there with me, this specific morning. We have known each other for some time, of course the Bible sitting in front me brought up a few questions. One thing led to another, and my friend stated a few times that he was a Christian. After more talk I asked him if he has ever asked the Lord Jesus into his heart as his personal savior. His reply was no. Not in a stubborn way, but he has never been informed or taught of this step.
The lesson was very educational for me, because we are called to be salt and light. We are called to be blameless sacrifices before God. When the Spirit of God is alive and working within us, we see people as eternal souls that will either spend it in heaven or hell. It then becomes a passion to save the lost. My friend here, due to improper teaching has never been taught the single most important step in his life.
I told Him what the scriptures say. We were unable to finish the conversation, but very soon, in God’s perfect timing I will share the above verse with Him. And God will add one more child into the Lambs Book of Life.
So friend I encourage you, be bold with your faith. Be as shrewd as snakes, yet as gentle as doves. Seek Him first and desire His ways to gently and lovingly infuse God’s love into everyone around us. Then allow God to work in their hearts! Or maybe yours…
