Romans 9:

Most Jews today do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. Many descendants of the Israelites are either Jews that don’t believe in Jesus or people who have turned to Islam. These people are God’s people, God chose them first and above all else. But they rejected Him then, and are rejecting Him today. However God has been very patient, allowing this to go on for thousands of years. There will be (and are )many that turn to Jesus, but most will deny Him as Lord and savior. The Gentiles (everybody else) have been invited to the wedding feast (salvation through Jesus), because it is our faith that saves us. Not our birthright, not our ancestors, but our FAITH! It is by faith we are saved, not by following the Law, the Law is still upheld, but by the guiding of the Spirit, so when we fail we may turn to our Savior for forgiveness.

Romans 10:

The Bible is a puzzle and a great mystery to us all. No theologian, or Spirit filled Pastor has it all figured out. So we must take the Bible as a whole. There one passage in this chapter that can be very dangerous to a weak, foolish soul; verses 9-13. This passage is 100% accurate and true, however it is only one-piece of this great puzzle. Choosing to follow this verse alone in the Bible, and ignoring the rest of it; this would be like buying an old car because it has a great transmission and expecting it to run even though you don’t know if it has an engine, tires, or even brakes! You need to know the whole package. If you are into following only one verse (which is not biblical), this one is a little better:

37 Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40

Romans 11:

Verse 32 is the kicker for me in this chapter. What an amazing thought, I get confused when I try to think past it, so I have to refer to verse 33. So in short: The hard hearts of God’s chosen people allowed our salvation. Yet, God is way to great for me to even try to figure out why He would do it that way. All we can do is Praise Him and Thank Him for His unfailing love and mercy!

Romans 12:

Be a living and holy sacrifice with your life and body.

Be transformed by God, rather than conforming to the ways of the world that go against the Bible.

Remember God’s will for us, may not be what we want (at first), but it is good, pleasing and perfect.

Be honest in your evaluation of yourself. God sees all so no sense in fooling ourselves.

Verses 9-21 have so many good teachings for us to live by. However the one that seems to sum them all up is in verse 16, live in harmony with each other. If we do this I think we can be pretty close to achieving all of these here. However the Word of God must never be compromised. So if living in harmony  is to slack and be lazy we are going against verse 11. If harmony comes in the form of following the crowd in revenge on a boss, we will be wrong. Love them and Hate what is wrong! Awesome Stuff!
