Nehemiah 13:

In Nehemiah’s absence the people were rapidly drifting away from God. Nehemiah was filled with righteous anger and forcefully stood up for it. Gentleness in the face of blatant and open disregard for the Word in the church is actually weakness.

Malachi 1,2

1:6-8 – It scares me to think of facing God face to face with regret, shame and guilt at His throne, this will happen if we dont fully honor our Father as He so righteously deserves.

10 – This verse spoke to me, that many times God needs a leader to do what will not be easy, what may bring hostility, judgement and persecution but it is completely right in God’s eyes, and God’s Word.

2:5-6 – The Bible talks about us all being Priests of the most High God, not in the sense of Worldly priests, but Heavenly priests. That’s why I feel that these verses speak to all of us on how we are to act and live. We are to pass on God’s truth as we study and learn it, we are to live righteously by what we learn, and by doing this we will turn others from sin.

11-12 – In this day and age for most of the world, our idols have taken on different shapes. People don’t necessarily worship idols and statues like days of old ( at least not in the volume as early Bible days), today we have many more distractions that come in the form of success, careers, money, beauty, TV, our sports, our hobbies…The list is truly endless. Anything that we place in priority before Jesus Christ is an idol. When these men married women without God Almighty they were opening themselves up to new idols in their lives. In order to truly love your wife, you have to love her wants and desires and support her. Well this is how many can be slowly pulled away from God, especially when that idol is disguised and does not show its teeth at first.

13-16 – God’s desires us to have a wife that will strengthen us and lead us into deeper love and fellowship with Him. When we do this He expect us to remain true to our vows, not because He is doesnt want us to be happy, but because it is designed that way. It works best that way, people grow stronger to each other and to God, and do not hurt people along the way when this is accomplished. “So guard your heart” He says, that is a very deep statement that is personal in all of our own struggles. But it starts by living righteously and purging selfishness and all evil from it.

Acts 4:

1-8 – The Holy Spirit is not afraid of men that can kill you. The Holy Spirit cannot be stopped when God sends it in motion through us. The impact will be reached.

10 – Be Bold for Jesus! These men were facing jail, beatings or death. What are we so afraid of?

13 – God does not need anyone special, don’t feel inadequate, don’t feel like you don’t know enough of your Bible. Just be obedient to the Holy Spirits nudges, and call on God, and seek Him first with all your heart.

18-20 – There may come a time when we will have to either obey God, or obey man. Whose it going to be for you?

23-24 – Persecution or trials of any kind should be followed with Praise and sharing of this testimony with others. We should then follow it with prayer, giving God honor glory and praise for what He did and is continuing to do as promised by His Word. Then as verse 31 says fresh in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit can be attained, and we have set the platform for God to move in our lives.
