Jeremiah 13,14,15:

13:12-14 – After reading this verse I thought of the destruction that alcohol has brought upon our nation. God’s hand was truly upon me during my rebellious years, and how much devastation He steered me out of. But others have not be so lucky. We must pray for our families, our friends, and our cities and nations where alcohol destroys so much. The destruction has rippled through our society in so many forms. Only God can deliver us from this deadly drug.

13:17 – this is a window into God’s heart, how much He truly loves and cares for us to be one with Him. Pride will destroy any chance of an intimate relationship with God Almighty. Lord, help me to constantly seek out any pride in my heart and constantly make me aware of it and cleanse me. Amen!

14:17-18 – another window into God’s heart, and how destructive the leaders of this time were. As leaders we must be strong in the Lord and follow Him with all our hearts. We must also pray for our leaders that God will constantly strengthen and sharpen them.

15:6 – we must not abuse the grace of our Lord. He is forgiving, He is full of mercy. But He will grow tired of a stubborn heart.

15:16 – I love the hunger and thirst Jeremiah has for God’s words. Lord please bless us all with this gift.

15:17 – We must be careful of who we associate with, and partaking in the comforts, delicacies and mindsets of this world.

John 15:

Amazingly deep but simple chapter! In order to live for God we must remain in Jesus. What does that look like? Well the Bible has different references or names that Jesus was called. Rabbi, or teacher; Good teacher, Lord, or even master. But the most important of all of these and the only name we need is Lord. In order to remain in Him, Jesus must truly be Lord of our lives. Not just with words, but with action. When we say we love Him and trust Him in all things, we shouldnt freak out when trials come knocking on our door. That is when our faith has an oppurtunity to build and be strengthened, or as the Bible describes: purified by fire, burning off the impurities that we all possess.

18-21: This passage should be a constant check in our lives in order to make sure that we are not in complete peace with the world. I say this because if we are in complete peace with the world we are probably not living as biblical as we should be. This is a tough one, because in order to keep the balance of loving and reaching the lost or conforming to the world we must be constantly seeking God in all of our ways and words. I make sure that the Bible is guiding my actions and words, if I begin compromising the Word of God then I am wrong. But if I can honestly say that my actions are in-line with the Word then may God give me the grace and wisdom to continue boldly.
