Notes from todays reading.

2 Kings 15:

Not surprising how God does not reward these wicked kings for their attempts at royal power. Pretty sad how people actually think they can be successful by starting a career or Kingship with murder or in other situations just lying, cheating and oppression.

2 Kings 16:

Dont quite understand everything going on here, but it does not seem good. Sounds pretty un-godly and self-satisfying.

Hosea 1:

This is a heavy book, message and strategy that the Lord of Heavens Armies used to express His heart. My Bible gives a quick summary of this chapter: Hosea was called by God to marry an unfaithful woman. God designed this marriage to be an illustration to the people of Israel of their unfaithfulness and idolatry.

What a strong man Hosea is! Praise God for Hosea and men like him. Just when we think we got problems, or we think God is asking us to do difficult things. I love Hosea’s obedience. This is a testament to his outlook, there is no way that Hosea lived for what is seen, or the things of this world. If he did there is no way he would have been obedient to this call on his life.

I’m praying daily that all of us will truly love and serve God with this type of obedience. Where our desires, motives and actions are no longer our own but direct steps from God’s guidance. Hosea learned through his own anguish and pain of how God’s heart was and had been shattered by the sins of His own created people. Know that God has a tremendous heart and desire for our lives, we must realize this and be bold to live it!

Hebrews 1:

This book of Hebrews is a powerful book filled with deep knowledge and wisdom. I pray for God’s guidance, wisdom and understanding as we navigate through Hebrews. Amen.

Verse 1-2 is pretty cool to see the transformation of how God’s communication has enabled us all to have direct access to Him through His Son. We no longer have to seek a prophet for the divine Word of the Lord of Heavens Armies.

I highlighted all these Words God spoke about His Son. They are so big, deep and powerful I truly cannot grasp the complete power of it. I just stare at each one individually for a bit, and just blow my mind. What I never noticed that was so cool, is how God calls Jesus God and Lord. We all know that they are part of the Triune God or the Godhead (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) . But I never noticed it within these actual statements before. So awesome and powerful.
