Notes from todays reading.

Ecclesiastes 10:

Something I have recently started doing is digging beneath the surface in my reading. I really want to encourage all of you, to try that. Especially when a verse sticks out to you in any way. We have so many resources to dig deeper, I’m also here to help anyone as best I can.

This chapter was like a proverb, but I felt like it had so much more power. I know that Ecclesiastes was written by Solomon in the later years of his life. The words and style of His writing seemed to have a more dominant effect over my thoughts. They seemed fresh and powerful. I pray that all of you were blessed in this way also.

Ecclesiastes 11:

Try not to look at these verses so literal. Try to dig a little deeper into the situations of your own life, and see how they relate. If anything really sticks out don’t hesitate to share, we all would love to learn and grow with you.

Ecclesiastes 12:

This whole chapter really  screamed at me, and was moving and powerful. But verse 7 really stood out. Solomon is talking of our lives on this earth, especially towards the end. In Genesis, it says the God created us from the dust of the earth ( that’s so amazing)! The Word also says he created us in His image, and that he places His spirit in us. Therefore dust returns to dust, and Spirit returns to Spirit when we die. But if that spirit has been corrupted by the world, it has no place in the presence of God.

God is spirit, and we are Gods people. Therefore our lives need to resemble Him, be dedicated to Him and live in worship to Him as verse 13 says. Because either way verse 14 relates to us all. My Bible says we will be judged for “everything” we do, other translations say “every deed”. Nothing is hidden, everything is laid bare before His eyes. This can be very scary if we are not living the way we should. Or if we live thinking we can do things without consequences or owning up to them someday.

Be strong in the Lord, seek Him and you will find Him. This is also my prayer for all of you!

Psalm 94:

Look up the word virtuous, and meditate on that word.

Ephesians 5:

Heres another chapter in Ephesians warning us of our actions, and the types of lives we choose to live. The main two points I want to point out are verses 6 and 10.

  • Verse 6 – we live in a world that tries to justify everything as “the Bible doesn’t exactly say you cant do that”. Lets stop fooling ourselves guys. If you dont have complete peace on something, it will lead you away from God. Stop while its early, before you make a foolish mistake.
  • Verse 10 – Carefully determine, prove or examine everything you do. Live and act with purpose, purpose that is pleasing to God. When we are about to do something, make sure it is right. A little bit of foolishness can spoil a whole lifetime of honor.

The rest of this chapter is powerful and amazing, God Bless All of You!

Love Aina

Praise God!

  1. Love this chapter!! This last week was critical for me I made a really foolish mistake that had me feeling embarrassed and ashamed of my actions. Can’t wait to fill you in on this one Hawaiian but the point is that after that decision my spiritual walk went for a spin out of control and I had to face some things I hadn’t had to face in a long time. But by the power and mercy of God and the foundation he made for me I was able to repent for my sins. Talking to my
Wife really helped me to let these things go.. God is good mahalo for your hard work Hawaiian.

    • Brotha God is building you. After hearing your heart, you are on the right track. We don’t make excuses for our mistakes. Acknowledgment followed by repentance. Owning up is the key, God can work with this kind of heart.

Stay faithful to His word, and these stumbles will be a thing of the past!

      Love Aina
