Notes from todays reading.

Proverbs 28:

Proverbs 29:

Psalm 60:

Verse 1b says that God was angry with His people. The only thing that brings God’s anger upon our lives is sin, and disobedience. When our lives align with the Word of God and when we are obedient to the guidance and nudging of the Holy Spirit God has no reason to be upset with us. It doesn’t mean that we will not face trials, for trials strengthen our faith giving endurance and a greater love and faith in Him. So seek and follow God and the Anger of Our Creator will be absent!

Do you have the mindset of verses 11-12? In the NLT Bible it says “for all human help is useless”. I love that, when we are in the thick of something challenging it’s so easy to turn to human understanding and reasoning. Especially our own! But the Living Word of God says that’s useless. I just did this yesterday, I was stressing about something and trying to figure it out in my head. I felt a strong poke in my spirit…I just stopped and prayed for God’s guidance, peace and understanding over the situation. Peace and repentance filled me. Peace of the situation, repentance that I hadn’t turned to God sooner!

Romans 16:

Going to try something different this week, This devotion is from the New Hope Oahu link ( ) , Pastor Wayne posts an audio commentary at the start of each reading week. It’s really nice, uplifting and points you in a direction for the week. But what he started doing was asking a few questions at the start. Last weeks question was :

  • What causes wisdom to become corrupted? The answer is Lack of maintenance. Wisdom un-stewarded turns to Pride.

This weeks questions are:

  • What brought Paul to Greece?
  • And After being beaten, what did God use to protect Paul, and prevent further reprisals?

Lets look for those questions this week in the readings. See if we can find the answer. To the reading…

At first glance, verses 1-16 speak of things that may not seem to relate to us. But what God comforted my heart with as I was reading was the joy, bonding and love of The Church. It really is so cool to share the Love of Christ with others. My relationships with All of you is so much more rich, meaningful and enjoyable than any other worldly friendship I have. It’s so beautiful because I can be me, and you can be you. I will never judge you, and I know you will not judge me. We have the wisdom of God to know that I will stumble, you will stumble; but through Christ Jesus we find forgiveness and redemption. In these verses Paul expresses that Love for his Church family. I pray that we all will continue to grow closer to Christ, in turn growing closer to each other.

With Eternal Love, Aina
