Slice of Bread : Romans 15

Romans 15:

Praise God for the strength and endurance that He has blessed all of us with!! The Holy Spirit began screaming this message at me as I started reading this morning so my goal is to be the mouthpiece for this message. Verses 1-2 spoke to me so loudly that I checked it with another translation, so combined with the King James and the New Living Translations I was really moved by these verses. Prior to reading this I have already had this burden on my heart and Praise God for this clarification this morning. My Bible says: “we should help others do what is right”,  the KJV says: “let every one of us please his neighbour”.

There are many generous, giving and charitable people and organizations throughout our nation and world. There are many who give to the needy, the hungry, the poor and the homeless. There are many who make it their life, their mission, their journey to be a giver to those without. There are famous people who generate and give millions to others with diseases, or any other ailments. This is great and amazing that they have this type of heart, but my question for you today is: To what end, will all this giving bring these people in need?

What I mean is, If the focus is to help people while they are here on this earth. What is being done for them when they die? These extremely generous people have presented an amazing gift, but the package is incomplete without the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Food is temporary, Pain is temporary, Cold is temporary, Disease is temporary; Death is forever. The Bible says our lives are but a vapor. Here one day gone the next. So if the giving is focused on the temporary, what good are these people really receiving.

I Challenge all of you to be a giver of Life! All of us that live for and through Jesus Christ have been given a new Life, Eternal Life. This gift was given to us for free, even though we don’t deserve it, and we blow it every day, we still have received. Every day we cross paths with people from home, to work, the store, in passing; everywhere there is opportunities to be a giver. Sometimes its a word, other times a gesture; but whatever you feel run with it and let the Power of the Holy Spirit overflow from you!

May God Bless All of You!
