Notes from todays reading.

Proverbs 10:

For me it’s really hard to read through the Proverbs this way. There is so much in each parable that I wish I could meditate more on each of them. I encourage you guys to make a proverb a day part of your daily reading, it will greatly reward you. Just read the chapter for the day of the month.

I really enjoyed the comparisons in verses 6-11 of the Godly versus the wicked. God is truly so good when we live and follow Him!

Proverbs 11:

Lots of different things going on in this Proverb. Many good ones, but verse 7 stood out to me. I know a lot of people as I’m sure most of us do, that are very successful, smart, have everything you could ask for in worldly standards, they are also very driven and ambitious. But when they die so does everything they have been working for. Their kids may inherit some things, but if you were never there to teach them how to use it wisely ( or invest in heavenly things that are eternal) than how do you know they will continue a good legacy. But as christians, if we live the lives of righteousness the Bible calls us to live, if we teach our children about the Love of God, and we spread the Gospel like wildfire we are spreading a legacy that started thousands of years ago. A legacy that now we have carried on, a legacy that does not give people tangible items that rot and burn up, but heavenly treasures that can never be taken away; such as salvation, eternal life, joy, happiness,  and peace!

Proverbs 12:

There are several verses in here that speak of listening, or being corrected. This is a very important trait of a person of God. If we cannot listen to feedback from others who will usually only tell us what we want to hear. How can we listen and obey the all-knowing God. One of the things that gets under my skin more than anything is people who are not correctable. The reason being is that pride is at the core of this reaction or action. God, hates pride. Pride in self leads to a hate of God. Because God calls us to deny ourselves, not promote ourselves. Being correctable is being willing to deny yourself at any cost. Being corrected is not easy, but it is the best thing for us. Rather than get defensive we need to appreciate and change. We cant feel attacked or put down. No one is perfect, therefore all fall short. Even the person correcting you!

Romans 10:

Confess, Believe and be saved. God is so Good. The problem is there is more to this simple recipe. This is the start but its not everything or else why would we need the entire Bible!? This is the start, from here we build up our faith and walk with following the commands of the Bible and let them continue to strengthen and influence our lives. First of all believing is so important because God knows our hearts. He knows the hearts that are pure and believe in Him with the fear and love that we need to have in order to transform are repentant heart. But do you know why we need to confess it with our mouths? In Genesis 1:26 it says “God said”. So God spoke. It didnt say God bought, or God built or God put together it says God Said! it then says “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us”. Without getting to sidetracked and deep, he spoke us into life. He created us to be like them (us, is Father, Son and Spirit). So not only did he speak us into life, but he spoke us into being just like him. So now when we speak we have power also. When we speak out loud that we believe in Jesus Christ and that he died for our sins and rose from the dead. We are speaking that to life within our spirit. This speaks the transformation within our hearts to life. The transformation of repentance. Of crucifying our old self-of-sin, with the new self-of-righteousness!

Sorry to get so deep. Just being obedient to what the Spirit put on my heart. If I lost you please ask for clarifications. I love questions!

Blessings and Love.
