Notes from todays reading.

Proverbs 1:

Proverbs!! The Proverbs are an amazing book. I would love to encourage all of you to try and make a habit of reading a proverb a day, it really will do wonders for your life! Verse 2-5 gives you a glimpse of all the things that can be attained and learned from this powerful book!

Verse 7 is really a foundational verse for a new believer, or even someone who has been backsliding for a while. There will never be a well-built house without a good foundation. And according to this verse true knowledge, or knowledge not attained to look smart to the world as in PhD’s, certain schooling or anything like that. This verse is talking about the knowledge of God, and the knowledge of who we really are and what we are really about as an individual.

Verse 31 really stood out to me, Ive never noticed this verse. We must really strive to live for God, and suppress our selfish desires to live for ourselves. When we live for God everything else falls into place!

Proverbs 2:

Seeking God is seeking Wisdom. This increases our knowledge, which in turns develops deeper understanding not only of the things of God but of life in it self. Understanding and knowledge are priceless, in our every day lives the increase of these two skills guide, direct, and protect our actions and words. The second half of this Proverb lists the pitfalls of certain types of individuals. Who we associate with is directly associated with either our growth or our setbacks.

Proverbs 3:

This Proverb packs some heavy punches! Way too many for me too list here. It was a tough pick but the main one to me is verse 5 and 6. This verse will bring the rest into alignment. But this is  a key one, if you cant accomplish this one dont advance pass GO, just stay right there and get this one digested and figured out first!

Verses 21-26 stuck out to me. There will be more and more deception within the Church, there already is a lot. But we need to understand these verses. Common sense here is basic Bible knowledge which in turn helps us to feel when something we are doing, something we heard or something we saw…just aint quite right. We must question everything like this within ourselves in order to discern between the Spirit of God, or another spirit. The Bible has ALL the answers.

Romans 7:

I believe verse 4 is speaking of our heart that changes to the accepting of Jesus Christ as Lord and as the Risen King, followed by repentance, followed by Water Baptism.

Ending of verse 6 calls us all to live in the Spirit. I was always under the impression that having the Holy Spirit in you was a radical, body shaking experience that was only available to the strongest of Christians. I was wrong, and this verse is one of many that illustrate that. The Spirit is available to all and is actually required in us if we are to really grow closer to Christ. Something that I have been hearing and I want to really believe, but Im not quite there, is seeing the realization that the Spirit World is actually more real than the Real World! I know to a lot of you that may sound ludicrous but it is a fact.

The ending of verse 13 is the case with many of the other religions nowadays. The Word or the Law has been twisted into religious practices, rather than the heart seeking to please God Almighty!

Blessings and Love.

Aina
