Notes from todays reading.

2 Samuel 24:

I normally dont do this, but because I was not sure of what was going on I also read the next chapter for more clarification before writing.

1 Chronicles 21:

Some of you may be wondering why it was a sin for King David to take a census, I know I was. Well God removed his presence to allow the King to be tested by the Devil. The King failed, he could have overcome that temptation but he didnt. What Satan did was He filled the King with Pride, a sense of accomplishment to see how big and powerful this kingdom was that he was ruling over. This pride was to see what he had done, rather than give God the glory and not care whether he ruled 10 or millions.

Pride can be  a very dangerous sin for all of us. We all need to always be aware of any situations that can lead us into pride. We must always keep ourselves in check on this one. God will always humble the prideful.

But something to point out in verse 15 and verse 27 is the overwhelming mercy of our God. Although the judgement had not completed, God felt mercy and compassion on his people and reduced the sentence.

Psalm 30:

Verse 6 speaks of the Kings pride and how it was a downfall in his life. We need to be careful as we walk in Gods favor, the blessings in our life can get to our head and lead us right into sin, judgement and pain. Be on your guard at all time. Pray for each other daily we are very vulnerable flesh and blood creatures.

1 Thessalonians 2:

Within this personal letter to the Church at Thessalonica there is a main theme that seems to be important as we all grow in our walks with the Lord. This theme is summed up in verse 4. God knows our hearts, therefore make sure your heart is right in everything you do, in other words dont fake the funk. If your heart is not right, but your doing the will of God. Stop and get your heart right. Paul and Timothy accomplished this, we need to strive for this same impact for Christ.

Find out what is blocking you, what sin is keeping you from pure motives and a clean repentant heart.

Blessings and Love.
