Notes from todays reading.

2 Samuel 13:

Last chapter the Lord told King David that the sword would never leave his household. He also told him that his own household would rebel against him.

Sundays message at church by Pastor Koa was awesome!! Great job Koa! But the title of his sermon was “God will do what He said!”. Sometimes God gives us a promise of hope, of blessing or of joy. But other times when we do wrong he gives us a word of sorrow. Just like he did in the last chapter. But those words are coming to life. We have to remember that God does not lie, everything He has said in His word and in your life will come to pass. You can bank on that.

If you look at this chapter from a spiritual standpoint, God basically just removes his presence from the kings family and people just do what people know best, evil. When the presence of God is not in our homes, evil can run rampant. When the presence of God is not in our lives, evil will run wild. The devil is a roaring lion seeking to kill and destroy every bit of good in your life. He will succeed if we allow him. The key is to fight back. And not with revenge.

For the steps to fight back turn to Ephesians 12-18. Sorry, Dont want to get to sidetracked or leave you hanging.

2 Samuel 14:

Im not quite sure of everything going on here. Except that King David must still have some forgiveness issues that he is trying to work out. That would be a pretty tough situation, to forgive your son of killing his brother.

Please share any further insight you guys may have.
Matthew 24:

This chapter has so much information and events to consider. But basically I believe we are living in these times. Many of these things listed here are pretty prevalent today. At least I hope so, I would hate to see it get much worse than it already is within our society. As believers in Christ we need to be ready. I have a burning passion to help men get ready. I-Challenge You was birthed from the desire God put in my heart to reach men across the world through this project. We all need to jump on board and get equipped and get on fire for Christ. Not only our soul, but the souls of everyone around you depend on it.

God Bless.

AMEN Bro. We are living in the end times, I do have a question about what Jesus said in verse 34 when He says “Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” Which generation is He referring to?

    • I actually was just listening to a sermon on this and the Pastor said exactly who Jesus was referring to, but Its kind of hazy. I will check for sure for you but if I remember correctly he was referring to the Israelites as a people. I’ll double check.

    • Ben here is my Pastors reply to your question.

The word genea is used here and refers to a whole group of people living at the same time a grouping. Since Jesus was speaking to His disciples, the group He was referring to was the Jews.

He spoke of the second coming as if it would happen in their lifetime. It was common for prophets to refer to events as near and at hand in order to express the greatness and certainty of them. Jesus was prophesying.

In verse 31 Jesus says His elect will be gathered from the four winds by the angels. This refers to the Jews. He is saying that even though the Jews would be scattered that “generation” would not ever pass away. They would always be His people. So I believe the generation in this passage referred to the Jews.

      Hope that helps brotha!
